Edo APC Chieftain Osifo Buys N100M Nomination Form

Stanlei Osifo, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Edo State, has acquired a presidential nomination form valued at N100 million to contest for the party's ticket in the upcoming 2027 general elections. This move positions him as a potential challenger to the current president, Bola Tinubu, despite growing endorsements for Tinubu within the party.

Osifo's payment for the nomination form was confirmed by Imran Muhammad, the chairman of Progress Congress, during a media event on Tuesday. Osifo has publicly declared his intention to run, dismissing claims that he is linked to any anti-party activities.

He asserts that his endorsement of party leaders does not override the constitutional provisions guiding candidate selection. The APC presidential primaries are scheduled for May 15-16, 2026, with the presidential national assembly elections set for January 16, 2027.

Campaign activities for these elections will commence on August 19, 2026.
