Wike Purchases PDP Presidential Forms, Supports Tinubu

Nyemson Wike, a prominent figure in the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has purchased presidential nomination forms for N51 million, expressing his interest in contesting for the presidency. Wike clarified that his support for Bola Tinubu, the current president, is a personal decision and does not represent the PDP's official stance.

He emphasized that his leadership within the party remains intact and that individual support for a candidate does not dictate the party's direction. The PDP is set to commence the sale of its nomination forms on April 27, with the process scheduled to close on May 4.

Wike reaffirmed his commitment to lead the country with a strong sense of responsibility and stated that the Nigerian electorate will ultimately choose their preferred candidates. He also noted that despite his support for Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027, this does not undermine the PDP's prospects in the upcoming elections.
