Osifo Enters APC Presidential Race, Challenges Tinubu

Osifo has officially declared his intention to contest for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket for the 2027 elections during a press conference held on Monday in Abuja. He plans to purchase the party's nomination form, which costs 100 million naira, comprising 30 million naira for the expression of interest and 70 million naira for the nomination itself.

His announcement comes amid a significant wave of endorsements for Bola Tinubu, with 22 APC governors supporting him as the party's sole candidate for the upcoming elections. Despite this, Osifo insists that such endorsements do not automatically determine who will be the party's flagbearer.

He addressed speculation regarding his candidacy, asserting that the party's electoral laws permit qualified members to contest. Osifo's declaration is significant as the APC prepares for its presidential primaries scheduled for May 15-16, 2023.
