Edo State Disburses Funds to 637 Agribusiness Beneficiaries

On a recent date, Edo State Governor Mondai Okpebholo launched the disbursement of funds to 637 beneficiaries of the LIFE-ND agribusiness program during a ceremony in Benin City. This initiative is part of the Niger Delta Project, which aims to empower youth and women by providing them with the necessary resources to establish profitable agribusiness ventures.

Governor Okpebholo emphasized the importance of sustainable agricultural development in addressing unemployment, poverty, and food insecurity in rural areas. The program has successfully trained 616 incubatees across 56 incubator centers in six local government areas of Edo State.

Jerri Uwangu, representing the Commission for Agriculture and Food Security, noted the project's strategic interventions. Sanni Abiodun, the project coordinator, and Anthonia Esenwa, who promotes agribusiness, highlighted the need for beneficiaries to repay loans and act as ambassadors for the LIFE-ND initiative.

Bola Tinubu's administration has been instrumental in funding this project, which aims to create jobs and enhance economic growth.
