Bayelsa State Commits to IFAD/LIFE-ND Agricultural Projects

Bayelsa State, represented by Prof. Beke Sese, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, has expressed satisfaction with the collaboration between the state government and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) on the LIFE-ND project.

This partnership aims to enhance food security and improve family enterprises in the Niger Delta. During a graduation distribution event, 685 beneficiaries of the LIFE-ND project were acknowledged.

Prof. Sese urged recipients to utilize the funds judiciously and avoid misappropriation.

The project is significant in fulfilling the agricultural objectives of Governor Douye Diri's administration, which prioritizes agricultural transformation and youth development. The LIFE-ND project coordinator, Mr.

Stella Manureh, highlighted the project's focus on addressing youth unemployment and promoting agro-business development across the Niger Delta. The state government’s support is crucial for achieving the project's objectives and fostering collaboration within the agricultural sector.
