Aigbodion Advocates for House Seat Rotation in Edo

Godwin Aigbodion, the former chairman of Owan West Local Government Council, issued a statement on Thursday regarding the political dynamics in the Owan East and Owan West federal constituency. He argued that the House of Representatives seat should rotate between the two local governments to prevent marginalization and ensure equitable representation.

Aigbodion highlighted that Owan East has held the seat for eight years and that it is now Owan West's turn to have equal representation. He condemned the actions of the current member, Prof. Julius Ihonvbere, who is seeking another term, labeling it a breach of trust and a violation of the agreed-upon rotation principle.

Aigbodion stressed the importance of political leaders adhering to agreements to avoid injustice and instability, asserting that leaders should not cling to power but instead serve the nation and aspire for higher office.
