Ifo Stakeholders Demand House Seat Rotation for 2027

The Ifo Progress Indigen Forum (IPIF) has called for the rotation of the House of Representatives seat for the Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency in Ogun State during the 2027 general elections. The forum, led by Chairman Abdul Oladosu and Secretary Kehind Egbeyemi, released a statement emphasizing the long-standing imbalance in representation since the constituency's creation in 1999.

They argue that the political representation has favored Ewekoro, with former representatives Bamidel Obadina and current lawmaker Ibrahim Isiaka holding the seat for 20 years, while Ifo has had only two representatives in nearly three decades. The forum cites recent electoral statistics, showing Ifo's significant voter strength, delivering 20,653 votes in the last gubernatorial election compared to Ewekoro's 20,415.

They urge the APC to ensure fair representation and political inclusivity in the upcoming elections, acknowledging the contributions of the current administration led by President Bola Tinubu and Governor Dapo Abiodun in infrastructural development in the area.
