Edo Governor Donates N200m to Fire Victims in Ekpoma

On Saturday, January 2026, Edo State Governor Senator Mondai Okpebholo unveiled the rebuilt Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) complex in Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area, which had been gutted by fire on January 11. During his visit, he pledged to assist in rebuilding the complex and supporting the traders affected by the fire.

The governor announced a donation of N200 million specifically for shop owners whose goods were destroyed in the incident, which impacted 25 shops belonging to POWA. Chief Press Secretary Patrick Ebojel noted that the governor had previously visited the site three to four months ago to inspect the damage and promised to help the victims.

Okpebholo emphasized the importance of keeping promises to support the traders in their recovery efforts, ensuring that they can resume their businesses.
