Ekiti Governor Oyebanji Allocates N200M for Disaster Relief

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji disclosed that the state government spent N200 million on disaster relief for victims between January and March 2026. He made this announcement during a distribution event in Ado Ekiti, where relief materials were provided to 200 victims affected by a rainstorm disaster.

On February 2, he also distributed cheques totaling N35 million to individuals whose properties were damaged by a fire disaster. Governor Oyebanji emphasized the government's commitment to alleviating the suffering of disaster victims and acknowledged the support from President Bola Tinubu's administration.

He highlighted the importance of swift responses to emergencies and encouraged property owners to adopt precautionary measures to prevent future disasters. Additionally, the government plans to provide psychological rehabilitation support for victims facing post-traumatic challenges.
