Edo Government Demolishes Cult-Linked Building in Uromi

The Edo State Government, under Governor Mondai Okpebholo, has demolished a building in Uromi, located in the Esan North-East Local Government Area, due to its alleged connections to cultism and ritual activities. The demolition was announced by Patrick Ebojel, a media aide to the governor, on Tuesday.

This action is part of a renewed crackdown on crime and criminal networks in the state. The operation was carried out by the Edo State Security Corps and the Nigeria Police Force, supervised by senior security officials attached to the governor's secretariat.

John Izegegb, a member of the Edo State Security Squad, intervened following intelligence reports that led to the sealing off of the property. The building was linked to disturbing discoveries made in June, including a ritual murder case.

Medical experts identified a decomposed body, identified as Mildah Dalandi, found on the premises. The state government reiterated its commitment to ongoing investigations aimed at dismantling criminal networks across communities.
