APC Primaries in Edo: Oshiomhole's Cousins Emerge Candidates

The All Progressives Congress (APC) held chairmanship primaries in Edo State, where Adams Oshiomhole's cousins, Jarret Teneb and Lucki Imasuen, emerged as candidates. The primaries took place on April 3, 2026, in preparation for the local government elections scheduled for July 11, 2026.

The elections will cover 18 local governments and 192 wards across the state. Notably, Romeo Omoik and Eriamato Christoph were elected candidates for Etsako West and Ovia North East local governments, respectively.

The primaries were conducted under the supervision of Abdullahi Bello, the Kogi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, who commended the orderly conduct of the elections. Teneb, as the Edo State APC chairman, emphasized the importance of ensuring a seamless and rancor-free electoral process.

The results indicated that seven incumbent chairmen were re-elected, while 11 were not. The party aims to address any complaints arising from the primaries through an appeal committee.
