NSCDC Rescues Abducted Girl, Arrests Three Suspects

On June 19, 2026, a teenage girl was abducted in Oghu community, Ewohimi, within the Esan South East Local Government Area of Edo State. The girl had left home to purchase a phone charging cord and did not return.

Her younger sister, Miss Glori Odigi, aged 15, reported her missing. The suspects contacted the family, demanding a ransom of N800,000 and warned against informing security agencies.

The investigation led by the NSCDC, under the command of spokesperson Efosa Ogbebor, resulted in the arrest of three suspects. The victim was successfully rescued on Saturday, July 16, 2026, with Thankgod Oriabor, aged 21, among those apprehended.

The suspects are currently in custody, and investigations are ongoing.
