Edo Police Arrest Students Over Viral Bullying Incident

The Edo State Police apprehended students from Igbinedion Education Centre due to their involvement in a bullying incident that was recorded and went viral. The video depicted students physically assaulting a schoolmate, which led to widespread outrage and prompted the school management to expel those involved.

Eno Ikoedem, the spokesperson for the Edo State Police Command, confirmed that the students would be charged in juvenile court in accordance with laws governing juvenile justice and child protection. Ikoedem also announced the launch of intensified operations aimed at ensuring safe schools across secondary institutions in Edo State.

This initiative is designed to identify supervision gaps and leverage lessons learned to prevent future occurrences. Additionally, the police will engage in campaigns against cultism and other vices, working with school administrations to advocate for awareness and reorientation programs.
