Edo Police Arrest Bullying Suspects at Igbinedion School

The Edo State Police Command has arrested suspects involved in a bullying incident at Igbinedion Educational Centre, which became widely known after a video of the assault went viral. The incident occurred on Thursday, March 5, 2026, when two female students, aged 14 and unnamed, engaged in a physical altercation with another student, reportedly over offensive remarks.

Following the altercation, the two girls were expelled for their violent conduct. On March 6, 2026, a retaliatory attack was carried out by a male student against the victim, which was also recorded and shared online.

The police have confirmed that the individuals directly connected to the incident have been identified and apprehended, and they will be charged in a family court according to juvenile justice laws. Edo State's Ministry of Education, represented by Permanent Secretary Edith Ebomoyi, condemned the violence and emphasized the need for discipline and safety in educational institutions.
