Edo Police Rescue Nine Kidnap Victims from GUO Bus

The Edo State Police Command announced the successful rescue of nine victims who were abducted during a recent attack on a GUO transport bus along the Benin-Lagos Expressway. The operation was coordinated by tactical teams and intelligence assets, which included aerial surveillance deployed in the affected corridor.

According to a statement issued by the police public relations officer, Eno Ikoedem, the breakthrough was achieved through sustained bush combing operations in the area, which pressured the kidnappers to abandon their captives. The rescued victims received medical attention and were reunited with their families.

Additionally, the police revealed that in a separate operation, four other kidnap victims were rescued from captivity within Imiegba Forest, bringing the total number of rescued victims to nine. The police reassured commuters and residents of increased security presence along the Benin-Lagos Expressway and expressed confidence that those responsible for the kidnappings would soon be brought to justice.
