Edo State Schools to Reopen June 15 After Security Review

The Edo State Government has announced the reopening of schools on June 15 after a temporary closure due to security concerns. The decision follows a review of the security situation in collaboration with relevant security agencies.

The closure affected Ososo Grammar School, Ososo Comprehensive High School, and Akoko Edo Secondary School, following alerts from the State Security Agency regarding potential attacks by bandits. A circular issued by Mr.

Enodolomwanyi Otamer, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, instructed school heads and proprietors to prepare adequately for the safe return of students and staff. The government has assured parents and guardians that enhanced security measures will be deployed across schools to guarantee the safety of learners and school personnel.
