Obasanjo Advocates for Education's Role in National Growth

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo highlighted the importance of education for national development during the inauguration of newly renovated and fully equipped chemistry and biology laboratories at African Church Grammar School in Ibadan, Oyo State. This multi-million naira facility was donated by Dr.

Adefisayo Oduwol, a member of the school's 1976 alumni set, as part of activities marking the institution's 50th anniversary. Obasanjo stressed that learning is a lifelong process and urged Nigerians to invest in education to improve learning standards in the country.

He commended Dr. Oduwol for his gesture and encouraged others to support educational development across Nigeria.

Oyo State's Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Segun Olayiwola, and other officials acknowledged the contributions of individuals and organizations in enhancing public school infrastructure. The event also featured remarks from Dr.

Deji Adeleke, who praised Oduwol's commitment to giving back to his alma mater, and Mr. Mojisola Tiamiyu, the school's principal, who encouraged current students to emulate the alumni's spirit of giving.
