Education Minister Alausa Addresses Examination Malpractice

Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, issued a warning to parents, teachers, school proprietors, principals, invigilators, and students regarding examination malpractice. He stated that the Federal Government's measures to enhance examination integrity align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's commitment to restoring educational standards in Nigeria.

Alausa highlighted that examination malpractice creates an unfair environment for diligent students and undermines the credibility of qualifications. He called for collective responsibility among all stakeholders in the education sector to discourage malpractice and uphold examination rules.

The Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Said Ahmad, supported the reforms, noting that stronger examination controls could reveal gaps in student preparation. She mentioned the introduction of serialized examination questions to reduce reliance on leaked materials.

Both officials assured stakeholders of the government's commitment to working with private schools and examination bodies to strengthen the credibility of Nigeria's examination system.
