EKSU Chancellor Calls for Education Reform Focus

During the 30th convocation ceremony of Ekiti State University (EKSU) held in Ado Ekiti, Chancellor Dr. Tunji Olowolaf stressed the importance of prioritizing lecturers' welfare and capacity building in education reforms.

He warned that lecturers must continuously grow to effectively teach. Dr.

Olowolaf announced the establishment of the Tunji Olowolaf Foundation, which will sponsor 37 EKSU lecturers to attend an international conference in 2024 as part of a faculty development initiative. He urged the graduating class of 2026 to embrace lifelong learning and highlighted the need for students to be prepared for a digital economy.

The university aims to achieve full digital proficiency among its 650 academic staff and has initiated partnerships with organizations like the CFA Institute to provide real-world experiences. Additionally, EKSU has partnered with Springpod to become the first African university platform offering students access to global virtual work experiences with companies such as Amazon and Deloitte.
