EKSU Chancellor Advocates for Education Reform Focused on Welfare

During the 30th convocation ceremony of Ekiti State University (EKSU) held in Ado Ekiti, Dr. Tunji Olowolaf, the Chancellor, called for education reforms that prioritize the welfare and capacity building of lecturers.

He warned that lecturers must continue to grow to effectively teach students. Olowolaf announced that 37 EKSU lecturers would be sponsored to attend an international conference in 2024 as part of a faculty development initiative.

He urged graduates to look beyond academic certificates and embrace lifelong learning values. Olowolaf shared his journey from leaving medical practice in 1988 to establishing projects aimed at infrastructure development.

He also discussed the university's efforts to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world experiences, including partnerships with the CFA Institute for practical training. Additionally, he announced a partnership with Springpod to provide students access to global virtual work experiences with companies like Amazon and Deloitte, emphasizing that character, hard work, and humility are what truly define success.
