EKSU Chancellor Urges Graduates to Embrace Hard Work

During the 30th convocation ceremony of Ekiti State University (EKSU) held in Ado Ekiti, Dr. Tunji Olowolafe, the Chancellor, emphasized the importance of hard work, humility, and honesty for graduates.

He warned against viewing their certificates as mere decorations, stressing that true value lies in the knowledge and skills acquired. Olowolafe announced ambitious digital transformation initiatives aimed at positioning EKSU competitively on a global scale, including a goal for 100% digital proficiency among its 650 lecturers.

He highlighted the establishment of a financial trade room and a dual certification system to prepare students for career readiness or entrepreneurial ventures. Notably, first-class graduates will receive N500,000 and join a newly established first-class graduates club.

Additionally, a partnership with Springpod will provide EKSU students access to virtual work experiences with multinational firms such as Amazon and Barclays. Olowolafe's initiatives reflect a commitment to aligning academic training with industry needs and ensuring no faculty member is left behind in the transition to a technology-driven learning environment.
