EFCC Arraigns Ngige Over Contract Fraud, Ex-Minister Pleads Not Guilty

The EFCC has arraigned former Anambra State Governor Ngige on charges of contract fraud at the Federal Capital Territory High Court Gwarimpa. Ngige pleaded not guilty to eight counts, including corruptly receiving monetary gifts from contractors at the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) between September 2015 and May 2023.

The charges allege that Ngige used his position to confer unfair advantages and awarded multiple contracts exceeding 2.1 billion Naira to companies linked to him. One of the companies mentioned is Cezimo Nigeria Limited.

The case highlights corruption allegations and misuse of power in contract award processes.
