EFCC Recovers $225,895 for Foreign Fraud Victims

On Friday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Nigeria handed over a total of $225,895 and ₦62.79 million to foreign victims of fraud. The funds included $7,440 received by Mike Fukuda on behalf of American victims, and $50,000 received by Lindi Mminel for South African victims.

The handover ceremony was presided over by Mohammed Hammajoda, the EFCC's Secretary, and included representatives from the FBI and the South African High Commission. Hammajoda emphasized the need for collective efforts to combat corruption, which he described as a global menace.

He urged international partners to respond promptly to requests for cooperation in asset recovery. The ceremony also featured expressions of gratitude from the victims and their representatives, who commended the EFCC for its relentless efforts in recovering funds and restoring confidence in Nigeria's financial system.
