EFCC Transfers N3.9bn to NNPCL in Fraud Recovery

On Thursday, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) presented a total sum of N3,936,145,822 (three billion nine hundred thirty-six million, one hundred forty-five thousand, eight hundred twenty-two naira) to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) at a ceremony held at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja. The presentation was made on behalf of the EFCC's Executive Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, by the Secretary of the Commission, Moham Hammajoda.

During the event, Olukoyede reiterated the EFCC's commitment to curbing economic and financial crimes, stressing the importance of diligent investigations to uncover fraud. NNPCL's Executive Vice President for Downstream, Mumuni Dagazau, expressed gratitude for the recovery, noting the company's ongoing struggles and the importance of correcting systemic issues.

Dagazau emphasized the significance of the recovery and the continued reliance on EFCC's support to move forward.
