EFCC Transfers Recovered Assets to Education Ministry

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) officially handed over recovered household items, including 501 double-decker bed frames and 939 mattresses, to the Federal Ministry of Education during a ceremony in Abuja on Tuesday. Dr.

Tunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, emphasized the federal government's commitment to ensuring that recovered assets from criminal activities are redirected to benefit young Nigerians and improve educational conditions. This initiative is part of President Bola Tinubu's administration's efforts to prioritize the education sector.

The recovered items will be distributed to schools across the country, enhancing accommodation for students. Additionally, the EFCC chairman, Mr.

Ola Olukoyede, noted that the transfer aligns with the provisions of the Proceeds of Crime Act, reinforcing the government's dedication to transparency and the effective use of recovered assets for national development. The initiative also supports the Nigerian Education Loan Fund, which has already benefited 1.4 million students.
