El-Rufai Alleges EFCC, ICPC Pressure for Tinubu Support

In an interview, former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai alleged that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) are using their investigative powers to pressure individuals into supporting President Bola Tinubu's potential bid for a second term. El-Rufai stated that he has conducted investigations without finding any incriminating evidence, asserting that the investigations are politically motivated.

He mentioned that some professors at academic institutions feel uncomfortable due to the pressure being exerted on them. Furthermore, El-Rufai claimed that individuals have been invited to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, suggesting that they align with political conditions to resolve cases.

He indicated that when these individuals are invited, it is implied that they should support Tinubu's second term in exchange for settling their cases, referring to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in this context.
