EFCC rejects ADC’s allegations of political bias, says mandate non-partisan

The Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has refuted allegations of political bias made by the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stating that its mandate is non-partisan. EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede emphasized that the agency investigates corruption cases involving both ruling party and opposition figures without prejudice.

Olukoyede condemned the ADC's claims of politically motivated investigations, stating that the EFCC operates within the confines of the law and does not discriminate based on political affiliation. The EFCC maintained that all allegations of corruption deserve to be probed, regardless of the political standing of the individuals involved.

The Commission urged political parties to focus on their activities and not politicize the EFCC's work. The EFCC reiterated its commitment to combating fraud and corruption, emphasizing that no one is above the law.
