“We’re non-partisan” – EFCC dismisses ADC’s allegations of political bias

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has dismissed allegations of political bias made by the African Democratic Congress (ADC). EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, emphasized that the agency is non-partisan and does not bow to political pressure when investigating corruption cases.

Olukoyede stated that the EFCC remains committed to its mandate of probing politically exposed individuals across party lines. He condemned the notion that the agency only targets opposition figures, highlighting ongoing investigations into ruling party members as well.

Olukoyede refuted claims that the summons of an opposition figure was politically motivated, asserting that every corruption allegation deserves to be investigated. He urged Nigerians to ignore political statements aimed at diverting attention from the fight against fraud and corruption, emphasizing the importance of accountability and probity in governance.
