EFCC Seeks Final Forfeiture of 57 Properties Linked to Malami

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed a motion in the Federal High Court in Abuja seeking the final forfeiture of 57 properties allegedly linked to former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami. The motion, led by legal representatives Jibrin Okutepa and Ekel Iheanacho, is marked FHC/ABJ/CS/20/2026.

The EFCC claims that Malami and several individuals and companies, including Rayhaan Group Ltd, acquired properties through unlawful means. The investigation, led by EFCC officer Daniel Adebayo, revealed that Malami's earnings from 2015 to 2023, totaling ₦253,608,500, were disproportionate to the value of the properties in question.

The properties, located across Abuja, Kebbi, Kano, and Kaduna, reportedly lack building permits, suggesting attempts to conceal their unlawful origins. Justice Joyce Abdulmalik has scheduled a hearing for April 21, following an earlier interim forfeiture order issued on January 6, 2026.
