Malami Accuses EFCC of Unlawful Property Invasion

Abubakar Malami, the former Attorney General of Nigeria, has accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of unlawfully invading his properties. According to a statement issued by his special assistant on media, Moham Bello Doka, the EFCC operatives allegedly stormed Malami's residential premises without a valid court order, accompanied by heavily armed security personnel.

During the operation, two individuals were reportedly taken into custody. This incident occurred shortly after a visit from Alhaji, a former vice president, which raised concerns about potential political undertones.

Malami's properties are currently involved in a case pending at the Federal High Court in Abuja, where an interim forfeiture order obtained by the EFCC has expired. Doka emphasized that the EFCC's actions represent a gross abuse of power and a flagrant disregard for the rule of law, warning of the dangers such actions pose to democracy.

Malami intends to continue cooperating with legal processes to defend his rights.
