EFCC Seeks Final Forfeiture of 57 Properties Linked to Malami

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has filed a motion at the Federal High Court in Abuja seeking the final forfeiture of 57 properties associated with former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, SAN. The EFCC's motion follows a previous interim forfeiture order, which the court issued in response to the EFCC's claims.

The EFCC contends that Malami and several associates, including his son Abdulaziz Malami and wife Hajia Bashir, failed to provide adequate evidence to justify vacating the interim order. The case is marked as FHC/ABJ/CS/20/2026.

The properties in question are linked to various entities, including Rayhaan Bustan Agro, Alli Ltd, Mountain View Gold Jewelleries Ltd, and others. The EFCC cites statutory powers under Section 17 of the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act of 2006 to support its request for final forfeiture, asserting that there is no sufficient cause shown to prevent the final forfeiture of the properties to the Federal Government of Nigeria.
