Police Parade Officers Linked to Effurun Killing of Artist

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has paraded officers connected to the fatal shooting of artist Mene Ogidi, aged 28, in Effurun, Delta State. Following a distress call, police responded and found a pistol and ammunition linked to the incident.

The team, led by ASP Nuhu, did not follow standard operational procedures, resulting in Ogidi's death. DCP Anthoni Placid announced that the officers involved will face prosecution after an internal investigation and disciplinary procedures conclude.

Recommendations for dismissal of the culpable officers have been forwarded to the Police Service Commission for review and ratification. The NPF has assured the public, particularly Ogidi's family, that justice will be pursued without compromise, emphasizing that no officer is above the law.

The police have committed to full cooperation in the prosecution process and have expressed condolences to Ogidi's family.
