Kayode Egbetokun Retires as Nigeria's Police Chief

Kayode Egbetokun, the immediate past Inspector General of Police (IGP), officially retired from the Nigeria Police Force on Thursday in Abuja, concluding a distinguished career spanning three decades. During a traditional color parade, Egbetokun's service was honored, with IGP Olatunji Disu paying tribute to his leadership and dedication.

Egbetokun expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for the opportunity to lead the force and emphasized the importance of strengthening the institution, expanding operational capacity, and improving the police's ability to respond to evolving security challenges in Nigeria. He acknowledged the loyalty, courage, and dedication of his officers and thanked his family for their support throughout his career.

Olatunji Disu, the newly appointed 22nd indigenous Inspector General of Police, was urged to lead the institution to greater heights, leaving Egbetokun with immense pride in the Nigeria Police Force's future.
