Egbetokun Shares Three Prayers Guiding His Tenure as IG

Kayode Egbetokun, the immediate past Inspector General of Police, disclosed three key prayers that guided his leadership during his tenure, which began in 2023. He shared these insights during a retirement thanksgiving service held in Abuja at the Nigeria Police Force headquarters chapel.

The three prayers included a request for wisdom to lead, grace to finish well, and divine guidance to ensure he did not remain in office beyond God's timing. Egbetokun reflected on his career in the police force, emphasizing his commitment to professionalism, integrity, and transparency.

He noted that he had always aspired to serve as the Deputy Inspector General before eventually becoming the nation's police chief. Joshua Omoyel, the police chaplain, commended Egbetokun for completing the police chaplaincy building project during his tenure and highlighted Egbetokun's dedication to Christian service, even before his appointment.
