Egbetokun Reflects on Tenure as IGP and Guiding Prayers

Egbetokun, during a thanksgiving service held at the Nigeria Police Force headquarters chapel in Abuja, disclosed the three prayers that guided his tenure as Inspector General of Police (IGP). The prayers include wisdom to lead, grace to finish, and divine guidance to not remain beyond God's time.

He emphasized that he did not expect his appointment and believed that God answers prayers. Egbetokun reflected on his career in the police force, which began after graduating from the Nigeria Police Academy, and shared his aspiration to serve as the Deputy Inspector General rather than the nation's police chief.

He acknowledged the importance of maintaining professionalism and integrity throughout his career, which shaped his conduct. Joshua Omoyel, the force chaplain, commended Egbetokun for completing the police chaplaincy building project during his tenure and noted Egbetokun's dedication to the Nigeria Police Force, including his previous role as Commissioner of Police in Kwara and Assistant Inspector General in Zone 7.
