Egbetokun Reflects on IGP Removal, Expresses Gratitude

Kayode Egbetokun, the immediate past Inspector General of Police, addressed his removal from office, stating that he had prayed not to stay a day longer than necessary in the position. His comments were made during a thanksgiving service held on Saturday in Abuja, organized to honor the Nigeria Police Force.

Egbetokun reflected on his appointment as Inspector General, expressing surprise and recounting how he prayed for wisdom to lead effectively and for grace to complete his assignments. He emphasized that he believed his prayers were answered by God, allowing him to fulfill his role without overstaying.

The service included the inauguration of the new Nigeria Police Force Chaplaincy and was attended by senior officers of the force, highlighting Egbetokun's faith and guidance throughout his tenure.
