Troops' Welfare Central to Nigeria's Security Strategy

During an Eid el-Fitr luncheon at the Forward Operating Base (FOB) EP in Lagos, Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu reaffirmed that the welfare of soldiers is a central pillar of military leadership and essential for tackling insecurity in Nigeria. He assured that the Nigerian Army will continue to prioritize the improvement of living conditions and support systems for all personnel, emphasizing that every member deserves dignity and recognition for their sacrifices.

Shaibu noted the unique occurrence of this year's Eid el-Fitr coinciding with the Christian Lenten season, which fostered a spirit of unity among Muslim and Christian personnel. He paid tribute to fallen heroes and highlighted the importance of collaboration with sister security agencies for sustained success in security efforts.

Major General O.S. Abai and Major General Adebayo Babalola were also mentioned in relation to their roles in maintaining security across the division's area of responsibility.
