Fubara Advocates Unity and Tolerance for Eid-El-Fitr

On Thursday, Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State issued a goodwill message to the Muslim community across Nigeria in celebration of Eid-El-Fitr. The statement, released by his Chief Press Secretary, Onwuka Nzeshi, highlighted the importance of unity, tolerance, and mutual respect among various faiths and ethnic groups in Nigeria.

Fubara expressed hope that the celebration would strengthen bonds of peace and harmony, urging citizens to cherish diversity and promote understanding. He wished the Muslim community a joyful Eid-El-Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, a period dedicated to fasting, prayer, and almsgiving.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has declared Friday, March 20, 2026, as a public holiday to mark this celebration.
