Gombe NSCDC, Police Deploy 700 Personnel for Eid Security

In preparation for the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations scheduled from March 19 to 21, 2026, the Gombe State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Gombe State Police Command have announced a large-scale deployment of security personnel. A total of no fewer than 700 officers will be mobilized across the state to provide security coverage during the festivities.

The NSCDC Gombe State Command, led by Commandant Jibrin Idri, has outlined strategic targets including Eid prayer grounds, hawan durbar venues, recreation centers, markets, motor parks, and other critical national assets. Idri emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order throughout the festive period and urged residents to conduct themselves peacefully while reporting any suspicious activities to security agencies.

Similarly, the Gombe State Police Command, under Commissioner of Police Umar Ahm Chuso, has issued a public advisory to ensure safety during the celebrations, encouraging vigilance among residents and motorists.
