NSCDC Deploys 53,500 Personnel for Eid-el-Fitr Security

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), under the command of General Abubakar Audi, has announced the deployment of 53,500 personnel across the country in preparation for the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations. This deployment, which includes tactical operations and intelligence squads, spans all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The initiative aims to strengthen security measures and ensure a hitch-free festive season. The NSCDC's spokesman, Babawal Afolabi Audi, stated that the deployment is part of proactive measures to tackle emerging security challenges and safeguard critical national infrastructure during the Eid celebrations.

The security coverage will intensify in identified flashpoints such as shopping malls, Eid prayer grounds, mosques, churches, motor parks, and recreational centers. Additionally, the NSCDC will conduct routine patrols and maintain synergy with other security agencies to ensure swift responses to any emerging situations.

The federal government has declared Thursday and Friday as public holidays to mark the Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.
