Makinde and Alaafin Urge Moral Values During Eid-el-Fitr

On the occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, conveyed their greetings to Muslims across Nigeria. Governor Makinde praised the sacrifices and perseverance of Muslims during the 30-day fasting period of Ramadan.

He highlighted the necessity of a solid moral foundation for the country's social, economic, and political development, expressing concern over Nigeria's moral state. In his statement, released by his Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, Makinde called on the Muslim community to seek God's guidance and pray for the leadership of the state and the nation.

He urged vigilance during the festivities to ensure safety and security. Alaafin Owoade echoed these sentiments, stressing that the nation's challenges stem from neglecting moral principles, which contribute to socio-economic difficulties.

He encouraged Muslims to hold firm to the lessons of the season and to demonstrate charity and love for their neighbors.
