Governors Makinde and Diri Promote Peace During Eid

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, represented by Deputy Governor Bayo Lawal, addressed the Muslim community during Eid el-Fitr celebrations, urging them to embody the virtues of humility, kindness, and forgiveness taught in the Holy Quran beyond Ramadan. He expressed gratitude for the support received from the residents and called for sustained backing until the end of his tenure.

The statement was issued by Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju. Meanwhile, Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri, during a Ramadan lunch, encouraged Muslims to demonstrate love, unity, and peace, highlighting that development cannot thrive without a peaceful environment.

He thanked the Muslim community for their contributions to peace and coexistence in the state. Diri also emphasized the need for the community to strengthen their commitment to peace and harmony.
