Tinubu Calls for Unity and Peace During Eid el-Fitr

On Friday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu called for unity and peace among Nigerians while celebrating Eid el-Fitr at Dodan Barracks, shortly after observing the two rakat Eid prayer. He expressed gratitude to God for guiding Muslims during Ramadan and highlighted the holy month’s teachings of sacrifice, compassion, and discipline.

Tinubu urged Nigerians to maintain good conduct and support vulnerable individuals beyond Ramadan, emphasizing the need for collective responsibility in ensuring national security and stability. He also reflected on his recent visit to the United Kingdom, which underscored mutual respect and religious tolerance among different faiths.

Sheikh Sulaimon Abou Nolla, the Grand Chief Imam of Lagos State, echoed similar sentiments in his sermon, urging Muslims to uphold piety and good character. Alhaji Sa'ad Abubakar III, the Sultan of Sokoto, also called for genuine unity among leaders to address national challenges and promote peace and coexistence across communities.
