Labour Party Reschedules Primaries for Eid-el-Kabir

The Labour Party announced the rescheduling of its primaries for the 2027 general elections to May 30, 2026. This decision was made to accommodate the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations, which coincide with the original dates of May 27 and May 29, 2026, for governorship and presidential primaries, respectively.

The announcement was made in a statement issued by Ken Eluma Asogwa from the party's national secretariat. The Labour Party emphasized its commitment to inclusivity and responsiveness to the concerns of its members, recognizing the significance of the Eid celebrations and the third anniversary of the inauguration of elected public office holders across Nigeria.

The party expressed regret for any inconvenience the change may cause to aspirants and stakeholders, appealing for understanding and cooperation as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify.
