Nigeria Offers 50% Train Fare Discount for Eid-el-Kabir

The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Federal Ministry of Transport, announced a 50% discount on train fares to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir. This fare reduction, as stated by the Permanent Secretary, Engr.

Funsho Adebiyi, will take effect from Tuesday, May 26, 2026, and will remain in place until Monday, June 1, 2026. The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) will reduce ticket prices nationwide by half of the existing approved fares, aimed at easing transportation costs for Nigerians during the festive period.

Passengers who purchase tickets at the old rate will receive a 50% rebate. The government clarified that train schedules and timetables will remain unchanged throughout this period.

The Federal Ministry of Transport expressed appreciation for the continued support of Nigerians and extended wishes for a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
