FRSC Warns Motorists of Lagos-Ibadan Congestion Risks

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued a warning to motorists regarding potential congestion on the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations. Kehind Hamzat, the Lagos State Sector Commander, advised drivers to remain patient and strictly observe traffic regulations amid rising vehicular movement and increased commercial activities along the corridor, particularly around the Kara and OPIC areas.

This congestion is expected to affect both inbound and outbound traffic flow. Hamzat recommended alternative routes, such as the Lagos-Sagamu or Benin corridors, and suggested exploring other routes like the Lekki-Epe Expressway and Ikorodu-Sagamu Road.

He emphasized the importance of exercising patience to avoid dangerous overtaking and speeding. The FRSC has deployed 700 personnel to various traffic-prone locations across Lagos State to enhance traffic control and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

The agency also urged motorists to maintain lane discipline and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy, wishing residents a safe Eid-el-Kabir.
