FRSC Announces Traffic Diversions on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has issued an alert regarding temporary traffic diversions on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. This is due to the installation of warning gantries by the Federal Ministry of Works, carried out by Buildwel Construction Company.

The diversions will specifically affect motorists traveling toward Ibadan, particularly in the Magboro and Ibafo sections of the expressway. A statement from FRSC, signed by Superintendent Route Command Afolabi Odunsi, indicated that the installation work commenced at the first bridge located in front of Mountain Top University, approximately 13 kilometers from Ibafo.

The operations are expected to reach a critical stage on Thursday, June 25, 2026. During this period, vehicles such as cars, buses, pickups, and mini trucks will be redirected to the Magboro Bridge, where they will rejoin the expressway at the NASFAT U-turn.

The FRSC has advised motorists to remain calm, cooperate with traffic officials deployed in the area, and exercise patience as the diversions may cause delays of up to 60 minutes.
