Lagos LG Chair Urges Prayers for National Security

Surah Animashaun, the Executive Chairman of a local government area in Lagos State, issued a message during the Eid-El-Kabir celebrations, calling on Muslims to pray for national security. In her statement released to newsmen on Tuesday, she urged Nigerians, particularly Lagosians, to set aside personal and sectarian interests and engage in fervent prayers to address the nation's security challenges.

Animashaun highlighted the significance of the Eid ul-Adha festival as a time for sober reflection and fostering harmony and tolerance among citizens. She encouraged Nigerians to rise above selfishness, greed, and corruption, and to remember the less fortunate.

Furthermore, she called for support for leaders, specifically President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, emphasizing the need for prayers to ensure their success in governance and the upcoming 2027 general elections.
