LASTMA Urges Road Safety During Eid-el-Kabir Celebrations

Olalekan Bakar Oki, the General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), called on motorists to prioritize road safety and responsible driving in light of the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations. He extended warm greetings to the Muslim community and highlighted the significance of the festival, which symbolizes sacrifice and faith.

Bakar Oki urged all road users, including commercial transport operators, to exercise maximum caution and civic responsibility during this festive period to safeguard lives and property. He specifically warned against reckless driving, speeding, and violations of traffic laws that could lead to accidents and loss of life.

Additionally, he advised drivers to refrain from driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics, which could impair their judgment. LASTMA will deploy personnel across major highways to ensure smooth traffic flow and provide prompt emergency response services throughout the celebrations.

Bakar Oki appealed for cooperation from motorists with traffic management personnel to maintain public order and safety.
