Police Arrest 27 Suspected Hoodlums in Niger State

On Sunday, during a police operation in Suleja, Niger State, the Niger State Police Command arrested 27 suspected hoodlums as part of efforts to maintain peace during the Eid-el-Kabir celebrations. The operation, conducted between 8:30 AM and 12 PM, targeted known criminal hideouts in the Kantoma area and Babangida Market, also referred to as Panteka.

The police recovered dangerous weapons and illicit substances, including 15 mobile phones, ATM cards, fake identification cards, and various weapons such as cutlasses, swords, and cannabis. The arrested individuals include Haruna Idri (20), Imrana Abdullahi (20), Moham Isah (27), and others from Niger, Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, and Yobe states.

The police spokesman, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the arrests and stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the suspects' involvement in criminal activities and identify possible accomplices. The police assured the public that operations would continue beyond the festive period to ensure security.
